Starting the Final Task

Hello my name is Kadia Khan and I am 16 years old. I am in the 11th grade. I am taking this class to learn about the types of things that happen in the media. I want to attend a college in New York or another state. I also want to pursue my career in New York. I fell in love with the city ever since I’ve visited my brother there. I am obsessed with having good grades but at times it can be too much but I find a way to deal with it in the end. School can be a stressful thing to deal with at times especially when you have other things to worry about. I always find a way to stay organized through the stress. I am always reminding myself that I am doing all this for my family and that is what keeps me motivated. I am working on this project with Keemori H. and Anayah S. I choose this group because we have worked on a project before and it turned out very well. We worked on our music video project very easily and we did not have any problems. Our project got done in one day for filming and another one for editing. With this group, everything gets done when it needs to be. They are very determined in their work so I couldn’t have worked with a better group. They taught me different things while we were doing the project. It made it easier with editing the video. I am pretty sure that they will cooperate more in this project too. I am looking forward to work on this project with my group.

    I am overjoyed at the way the music video came out. I am proud of the group I worked with. The music video showed my development of editing and filming from my commercial. I could not have completed this project with out my teammates. I made sure not to make the same mistakes time wise as when I was making the commercial. It is clear that everything was planned out well. The video was not choppy or last minute. There are many changes that could be seen. Research Blog for Music Video

       The song we are doing is Greece by DJ Khaled and Drake which is in the hip-hop/rap category. The conventions in these videos are not very specific and they vary. It all depends on what you are doing but, in most videos, they are showing off cars and money. The locations vary too and sometimes they are either in a luxury house, in the city, or at a beach/pool. At times, they can be simple with just the artist and friends hanging out. Camera angles used in most hip-hop videos are medium shots or close-ups to show off the rapper's clothing or jewelry. When there is movement it is most likely  pan  or a tracking shot where the artist is followed. Filming Blog for Music Video

     My group and I have not decided when to edit our video yet. Looking back on the filming day it was very fun. I am both sad and relieved about the filming. I feel this way because it was really fun to work with my group but I am relieved we got it done. I had a great time filming especially because we are all friends. We were all in contact and started to plan everything immediately. I feel like filming is better than editing for us because we can't meet up this time to edit. It was a little hectic because the storyboard was not really matching up with our scenes. In the end, we found a way to make it work because we were not going to leave until it did. Luckily, in the end, before the sunset we got all our shots done. I am grateful to be able to work with them because they really know how to get work done.
