Genre Research: A Fall From Grace

 A Fall From Grace was released on January 17, 2020, and directed by Tyler Perry.  He is known as one of the best movie directors there is. This film gives you a lot of suspense and leaves you on the edge of your seat. This film gives you all the elements a thriller film should have. A thriller film should be cutting edge with anticipation leaving you to think about what’s going to happen next. Thriller movies have many elements that give the audience what they desire. The elements this movie gives are plot twists, suspenseful music, high peaks, point of view, etc. A fall from grace is a great example of how all of these elements play a role. This movie gives us a perfect example of how we need to shoot our film. The elements I like were the plot twist and suspenseful music. Throughout the movie, we see the point of view of the female actor as she portrays what she went through. We see the transition of a plot twist that leaves the audience not expecting that to happen. When the male actor and his mother betrayed Grace we were able to see how everything went down. Some elements I didn’t like is how they did some of the editing, lighting, and costumes.  The lighting was off during certain scenes where it should’ve been high-key and low-key lighting. The way the actors were placed in their costumes was something I didn’t enjoy due to the fact that it didn’t go well with the actor. The editing wasn’t done well it was a lot many cuts during the scenes that probably should’ve been a dissolve or something else. This film left me on the edge of my seat the very first time I watched it and included a lot of mouth drops. We will be using this film to help us create the opening scene. This film gives us some elements that will play a huge role in the pitch we chose.
