Genre Decision Blog

 The genre of our opening sequence will be a thriller. Thriller is the genre of literature. Thriller movies are dark, suspenseful, and enthralling. We came to this conclusion after many ideas had been passed along. We were originally stuck between comedy and drama, but we wanted something that we would also enjoy. Creating a comedy film would be hard to leave the graders laughing in just 2 minutes. Creating a drama film would be hard because we would need to have more time in order to end off the film correctly. As a group, we wanted to give our all as this is our final project for this class. Thriller movies give you the question of what comes next, with intense excitement, suspense tension, and anticipation. From watching thriller movies as a whole, we believed this would be the best option.  We wanted to make sure that our thriller film was not just 2 minutes of 5-second clips but an actual opening scene our graders would enjoy. After watching many thriller movies, we realized that what leaves the audience on the edge of their seat and wanting more is the best way to go. Other movies can give you predictability of what is going to happen next, yet thriller movies do not. Writers of thriller movies use scripts that will leave fans interested throughout the whole thing. That is our plan for only having 2 minutes to create our film. Thriller aims for giving people the thrills of a lifetime. With our pitch of “two females organize a kidnapping against a young female” this will leave our graders wanting to know how things will play out. Although we are still planning, we believe this pitch will show our view of what a thriller film would look like. Our pitch will give everything from camera angles, background music, characters, costumes, etc. With all our hard work and planning through the blogs, we will create a good film. This will be one of our best films as a group.

Filming Blog for Music Video

     My group and I have not decided when to edit our video yet. Looking back on the filming day it was very fun. I am both sad and relieved about the filming. I feel this way because it was really fun to work with my group but I am relieved we got it done. I had a great time filming especially because we are all friends. We were all in contact and started to plan everything immediately. I feel like filming is better than editing for us because we can't meet up this time to edit. It was a little hectic because the storyboard was not really matching up with our scenes. In the end, we found a way to make it work because we were not going to leave until it did. Genre Research: Action & Thriller

The action and thriller genres have many similarities and differences, especially when it relates to CLAMPS. Action Films Action films tend to use different aspects of lighting such as, three-point, low key, natural, and high key lighting. Like thriller films, action movies contain excessive use of make-up and costumes to make the movie seem and realistic as possible. Not to mention, directors use make-up and costumes to separate normal and abnormal characters within the film. In action movies low-key, high-key, natural, and three-point lighting are commonly used during film. During the editing process, editors of action films are more likely to use graphic and action matches, slow motion effects, and plenty visual effects. Especially in movies like Spiderman, Avengers, and Iron Man. As for camera angles action movies are usually seen with using aerial shots, high angles, low angles, and canted (Dutch) angles. Planning Blog: Scripts

  Writing the scripts was easy for our group.  Our group already had ideas in mind for what we wanted in our film and it all came down to write these ideas in a script.  To create the script our group has used PowerPoint.  Using PowerPoint has made our  scripts  easier  to  read for the group and for the actors.  We successfully made t he  shooting script  go hand in hand  with the sound and dialogue script . The scripts are always very descriptive when it comes to sound, lighting, camera shots, and camera movements.  Not to mention, that there is enough dialogue to keep the movie scenes mysterious and  intimidating.  All that’s left is to film and edit using the scripts and storyboard as our guide.   One of the group members  Anayah  oversaw writing the two scripts, however, everyone pitched in to throw in their own ideas.
